Things To Do
Walking down Main Street, you can explore shops (Yankee Ingenuity and Gustare Oils and Vinegars), indulge in ice cream at Emack & Bolio’s or chocolates at the Chatham Candy Manor, and scout for restaurants.
The Veranda at CBI offers meals with a view of the Atlantic. Chatham Cookware offers sandwiches for breakfast or lunch that can be taken to go. Del Mar, the Impudent Oyster, and Mac’s Chatham Fish and Lobster offer local seafood.
There are great walks to be had along Lighthouse Beach (Atlantic Ocean) and Harding’s Beach (Nantucket Sound).
Wheelhouse Bike Co rents bikes that can be ridden along Shore Road or taken on the Old Colony Rail Trail from Chatham to the Cape Cod Rail Trail in Harwich that runs all the way to Welfleet. The trail is a well-paved, generally flat two-way path that is popular with walkers and bikers alike.
For those looking to spend some time on the water, Blue Claw Boat Tours has cruises through the estuaries and “inside” waterways of Orleans and Chatham.
