How I Met Bri

Fall 2013

How we met. It seems very significant now, but in the moment we could never know how important that meeting would end up being. Our story began in 2013 at Six Flags Magic Mountain, at the roller-coaster, Ninja. It was one of Briyana's first shifts and I was a newly promoted Foreman at the flying roller-coaster, Tatsu. From my perspective it was a normal weekend closing shift and I had free time because I had finished all the normal tasks ahead of time. I decided to look over the shift schedule for the following weekend and noticed that a new hire, "Briyana Jacobo" was listed for Tatsu. I also noticed that she was working over at Ninja that day. I decided to go over to Ninja to see if I could train her to be a Tatsu ride attendant so that the next weekend we wouldn't be pressed to train her quickly. I walked over to Ninja and that's when I first saw, the love of my life, Bri. She was so beautiful that it made me extremely nervous to talk to her but I managed to train her that day and our story began...

The Proposal

Mission Peru Proposal (June 2nd, 2018)

Deciding to marry the love of my life, Bri was the easy part. Accomplishing the proposal without her help and guidance was the difficult piece of our story. It started with buying the ring and keeping it secretly hidden from her for 6 months. There was various moments when she almost found it and I was panicked. Then I took her to Peru as a graduation present where I knew I wanted propose at but had no idea where or how. My plan was simply this: carry the ring in my pocket and find the right moment. Early on, I decided not to propose at Machu Picchu or anytime early in our trip so I waited for the end of our trip. So it happened the second to last day before we left Peru, on June 2nd. I was so nervous that whole day because I just kept looking for places for it to happen. She knew that I was acting super strange and called me out on it but I kept insisting I was okay as I secretly clutched the ring box in my pocket. That day we had decided to go to The Parque de la Reserva, for our night adventure. It was there that I proposed. It was so difficult because I had promised Bri's Mom that I would get a video of it so I had to find someone to take a video of us. Luckily the park had photography people and I managed to ask in Spanish to take both our picture and then video with my cellphone. So it was during a small photo session that captured the proposal while everyone around us clapped when she said "Yes!".
