Life happens when you least expect it. We met informally on Tinder. We matched and I was immediately drawn to him and we talked for a while before ultimately planning and going on our first date.
Our first date was mostly spur of the moment and silly. We decided on a Saturday for him to pick me up, and we would go eat something fast, then head out for fishing. After picking me up in his beat up little Chevy truck, we headed to McDonalds where we grabbed some dollar menu fine dining. He then drove us out to a cute little tucked away fishing dock in Corinth just off a walking trail where we talked for hours. We’ve been inseparable ever since.
On December 3rd 2022, we dropped the babies off with his family and headed to a cigar shop. I was a little skeptical, since he only ever smokes them when he’s celebrating something but wasn’t sure if he had mentioned anything cigar worthy. We then headed to the dock where we had our first date and talked a while about how much we’ve changed since our first date, as well as how much the area around the dock had changed in that time. We made idle chitchat for a little while as he smoked his cigar. He doesn’t think so but I realized he was acting really nervous like he was scared to say something. I realize now he was building up the courage, and finally got down on one knee in the moonlight, on that tiny secluded dock where we first got to know each other over 3 years ago, and asked me to marry him. That will forever be one of our favorite places to visit.
