The first time Mandi and I locked eyes, I found myself at a place I despised; a place that I only occupied when I absolutely had to under the most unfortunate circumstances. That place was work...at Chick-Fil-A. Now to the average, self respecting American, this chicken filled eatery is a safe haven for lemonade and conservative values (insert 'Merica here). But to me, this place was simply an interruption to my time at the skate-park. That is.. until "it happened". I was minding my own business (probably not doing my job) when I heard those startling words. "We need cones in drive!" someone shouted. Me being the designated "stocker" this was unfortunately my job. So, with every ounce of energy i had, I stepped up the small step tool, grabbed an unopened box of ice cream cones and stepped down with the grace of a spring swan. Understand, I took engineering in high school, but I always had trouble figuring out the cones. They had to be turned upside down and fit into this little slot so you could easily access them. On this particular day I successfully turned the cones but I missed one key step in controlling their trajectory. I dropped all but 7 cones, and barely made it out with my life. But unfortunately my pride was not so lucky. To my dismay, upon me scanning to see who might have witnessed my failure I noticed someone was indeed watching. A cute, brown haired girl was smiling at me (practically mocking my pain) as I pulled myself together. It was love at first sight. Her name was Mandi and for whatever reason this clumsy act made her think "Whoa this guy needs my help". Long story short, we started talking, we went on a cute date to the movie "Sing" starring Matthew Mcconaughey and ate some amazing panda express. We enjoyed hours of conversation, and when I drove her home in my mom's mini van I awkwardly asked if she would date me, and she confidently answered "Absolutely". Two years later here I am waiting for the rest of my life with my best friend.
