How We Meet

Panther Regiment

We met and became friends during early mornings practices, late Friday nights, and weekends spent on long bus rides to marching band competitions. It started as a friendship spending time with our friends (a lot of which will be standing beside us in June) playing board games and slowly became more. We started dating on October 13, 2013 after dinner at Denny's. Since then, it has been six-plus years of growing up and growing together. Three degrees, one study abroad, a lot of weekend trips to Waco and College Station, a first plane ride, and many other adventures have lead us to June 20.

She said yes!

They were supposed to be at the lake! November 24, 2018

On November 24, 2018, the day of the longest college football game, A&M vs LSU, Mallory was told she was going with Chris to meet one of his graduate professors. (Why she believed that the world may never know) He acted like his professor ‘forgot’ about his appointment to talk about a grade. In reality, he was checking with Dr. Mo (our wedding day officiant) to make sure everyone was in place. After their forgotten appointment, they walked across campus to catch their ride. Along the way they passed the A&M century tree. Where a couple was taking engagment photos. Chris suggested walking under, knowing the tradition and not wanting to mess up their pictures, Mallory almost refused. Chris persisted, and they walked under the tree. Half way through Chris stopped. Mallory was confused and then she saw a little black box. Chris got down on one knee, Mallory was crying her eyes out and could only say YES! He stood and put the ring on her finger and hugged her. She looked over his shoulder and saw their parents, Mallory’s sister and their best friends on the other side of the tree. Mallory’s response was to yell to her parent’s “you’re supposed to be at the lake” as they were camping for the holiday. She cried some more. Everyone hugged, then they went back to Chris’s for a chick-fil-a and doughnut breakfast. They went to the tailgate and the game. They saw A&M win in 7 over times. But most importantly they got engaged, and so the adventure begins!!!!
