We found each other online and met for the first time at Ascend, a local climbing gym. We climbed, Matt laughed at Mallory for muscling everything, we went to dinner at OTB, and then we sat in the car for a few hours just chatting away. We knew that night we wanted to be in each other's lives regardless of the status; we pursued a friendship to start and remained in daily contact from the very first text! (where Matt expressed his relief that it was blue and not green...)

After months of basically being in a relationship but not being in a relationship, we were out on another date that wasn't a date (dinner and show downtown) and we just had such a great night. Conversations were had on the car ride home and by the end of the evening, we were officially a couple AND had our first kiss!

We LOVE to travel and adventure together; this particular trip we were exploring Arizona and stopped to hike the Grand Canyon. Sure enough, after a long hike down the South Kaibab trail into canyon, on the edge of a cliff at Skeleton Point, Matt proposed!
