We met, unbeknownst to us, as kids growing up playing basketball together. Our parents knew each other from drapsing around at sports and with kids. Fast forward 20+ years later, it's Mother's Day and we both end up at Nonno Pino's in Edison Park celebrating our mom's. Jordan's mom, Holly, recognizes my mom, JoAnne, from across the room. They walk over to our table and Jordan and I lock eyes for the first time...I thought "damn, he's hot!" So, what's a girl to do? Naturally, I did some good old-fashioned stalking... I mean, research, on social media. Found his Snapchat, slid into his DMs, and the rest is history. Spoiler alert: I was persistent as heck. Fast forward 6 months and he moved in with me in Park Ridge. He met Braeden and the two quickly became peas in a pod. I mean, seriously, the guy was great with my kid. Bonus points for being hot and father material! Now, let's pause for a moment to talk about Jordan's phone habits. Who even calls people anymore, right? I was and still am all about that texting life, but Jordan's straight outta the '90s with his love for phone calls. Weird, but kinda cute, I guess. It was the little things like this that made me realize he was a keeper. Next thing you know, we're buying a house together in Park Ridge. It's official: Braeden, Jordan, and I are one big happy family. Fast forward again, and along comes Mr. Myles, our pride and joy. Cue the collective "aww" from everyone. We realize how quickly we had become our parents drapsing around the gym now with our own kids at sporting events. Suddenly, we're living the suburban dream – basketball games, family dinners, Netflix marathons, you name it. Life's a whirlwind of diapers, takeout, and fixing up the house. Oh, and let's not forget surviving those brutal Chicago winters and soaking up the summer sun. But you know what? I wouldn't trade it for the world. This crazy, beautiful life with Jordan and our boys? It's everything we never knew I needed. And hey, this is just the beginning. Who knows what the future holds for our little tribe? All we can say is, thank you for being there for us over the years. Now, let's celebrate – who's up for a party?! Love, Mallori & Jordan
