It all began at the faint, LITERALLY! Charmaine went to the gym and hit her head pretty hard which led to a trip to the emergency room. Malcolm had replied to her story while she laid in the hospital bed not knowing this would begin an endless conversation… Eventually, Charmaine gathered up the courage to meet Malcolm in person after church one day, then the next day they went to Starbucks together. They realized they were like two peas in a pod, they both were Starbucks addicts, hated onions and tomatoes on their burgers, loved blue cheese, could quote the same movies, loved God, and most importantly could sing old revival hymns and high school musical tracts on the spot. They became inseparable, like white on rice, they realized they were soulmates, and the rest became history!
On May 12th, 2022 Malcolm took Charmaine on the ride of her life! Charmaine grew up riding on the back of her dad’s Harley as a little girl and even took trips with her beloved late Uncle Roscoe. Malcolm wanted to give Charmaine the best Mother’s Day gift and knew this ride would be special. They spent the day riding to Durango & eating at their favorite restaurant -636 Main ave-! Charmaine had no clue of what was to come… On the way home, Malcolm was extremely nervous hiding the ring in his vest pocket because he didn’t want Charmaine to feel or find it, and the restaurant took longer than expected. Both of their families were patiently waiting back home at the museum for their arrival. Eventually, they reached their destination and Charmaine was full of many questions to which Malcolm had one response, “Close your eyes”. As they turned the corner, “Beautiful Crazy” by Luke Combs began to play, they were greeted by the smiling faces of their family, & Charmaine was at a loss for words! With a big banner, balloons, & a heart on the ground made out of roses! Malcolm dropped to one knee and Charmaine said, “YES!!”
