Hinge. Tim and Makayla matched on Hinge in December of 2019. Tim gave Makayla 2 options for their first date (Lincoln Park Zoo Lights or a Bulls game). They ended up going to the Bulls game and shared a gourmet meal of Goose Island beer and hot dogs. From the start Makayla and Tim got along great and enjoyed each other's company. Makayla was only in the Chicagoland area for the next 3 weeks due to a travel OT assignment but they decided to continue to get know each other. Makayla shortly moved back to St. Louis but they kept in touch. Makayla moved back to Chicago to start a full-time job in March of 2020 (right as all of Chicago locked down for COVID). Tim and Makayla began to spend lots of their free time together, and thanks to COVID there was a lot of free time. They officially started dating in April of 2020.

On a Friday night after work, Tim told Makayla they were grabbing drinks at a restaurant along the Lake Shore trail with Tim's brother (Thomas) and his girlfriend (Rachel). They went for a nice walk in that direction; however, didn't quite make it there. Once they arrived at the lake, Tim proposed with the Chicago skyline in the background. They went back to their apartment to call friends and family but upon entering the apartment Makayla's family was there from St. Louis to celebrate! But the surprises didn't end there.... Tim threw a surprise party at Ranalli's West Loop with all of their families and Chicago friends. It was the perfect night celebrating their future! We're so excited to celebrate with you!
