While both were pursuing their bachelor’s degrees at The University of Texas at San Antonio, they found themselves drawn to the same place—the university’s recreational facility, where they shared a love for pickup basketball. It was during these games that their paths first crossed. Makaela’s outgoing personality and effortless charm caught Chase’s attention, her quick wit making him laugh and sparking endless conversations, asking far more questions than one might expect from someone she had only just met. But from that first interaction, something special had already begun to take shape. As their connection deepened, Chase and Makaela knew they had found something special. Wanting to honor the day it all began, they chose their wedding date to match their dating anniversary—January 24. Since 2022, their journey together has been filled with challenges, milestones, and countless cherished memories. In the first year of their relationship, they navigated the difficulties of long distance as Chase pursued his career in Florida while Makaela completed her final year of college and prepared for law school. Through unwavering love and support, they grew even stronger, proving that no distance could keep them apart. A year later, Chase returned to Texas to stand by Makaela’s side as she pursued her dreams. Today, their life is filled with love, laughter, and their two dogs, Nala and Pluto. They share a passion for golf, basketball—of course—and exploring new foods together.
