We met at the first table-read for Stranger Things season one. She was 19, he was 24. As we all bonded, me and Maika felt there was some sort of connection between us both. I asked her out to a drive-in movie on September 1st at 9pm. I picked her up and she looked beautiful without even trying. We were both dressed so casual, but there was something about her that made her look gorgeous in the most comfiest clothes. We watched 'Slenderman' at the nearest drive in theatre in the bed of my Ford pickup truck. We clung onto each other for our lives. Not even gonna lie, that movie was terrifying. I took her home and walked her to her apartment. Days later on the 9th, we met up for coffee early in the morning before work. We looked at each other and though, "This could actually work."
On June 16, 2022, Maya Hawke called me mid afternoon and asked me if I wanted to go get manicures and some coffee. I agreed and picked myself up off my couch, put makeup on, got dressed, and arrived at the nail salon. We were there for a few hours when Joe called to tell me to meet him at this AirBNB in the middle of the woods. Confused, I pay the nail technician and I drive to the address he sent. I see fake candles lined on the sidewalk up to the cabin and I hear someone inside playing slow music on the guitar. Joe spots me and runs outside to greet me, telling me I look beautiful like he does every time he sees me. We go inside and have a delicious dinner consisting of a fruit charcuterie board and some steak. He suddenly grabs my hand and runs out to the porch as it starts to get dark, pointing in shock at the fireflies lighting up the green forest in front of us. Instantly, he gets down on one knee and pops the question. He cries, I start to cry, and I get on the floor beside him as we kiss and hug, him sliding the ring on my finger and rubbing my back.
