Question

What should we wear to the wedding?

Answer

It will be cold (in the low 50s) so consider wearing layers. When selecting your shoes, please take into account that there are cobblestones and grass at the venue. The attire for the wedding ceremony and reception is formal. If you have any questions about formal attire, please refer to this link: https://www.theknot.com/content/formal-wedding-attire.

Question

What is an Aufruf?

Answer

An aufruf is a traditional Jewish ceremony prior to the wedding where the couple is called to the Torah for a blessing called an aliyah. When the blessing is completed, the entire congregation wishes them luck and happiness by throwing soft candies at them.

Question

I don't live in LA. Should I go to the Aufruf?

Answer

We would certainly love to have you there, but there is no expectation to travel for the Aufruf. For those who would like to attend virtually, Torah services will begin at around 10:15am PST. You can expect our Aliyah between 10:45 and 11:15. Here is the YouTube link: http://tinyurl.com/mjaufruf

Question

Will the food be Kosher?

Answer

The food at the Friday night dinner will be prepared under the supervision of Chabad of Arizona. Saturday dinner is Kosher dairy. Sunday brunch is vegetarian/pescatarian.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes, there is ample parking at the venue! We recommend ride-share apps such as Uber or Lyft for those planning to be ~unsober~.

Question

Should I bring a gift to the wedding?

Answer

Your presence and celebration with us is gift enough! Should you choose to give an additional gift, please see our registry tab on this website. Zola is our preferred method for receiving wedding gifts to avoid missing deliveries or shipping gifts cross-country. Thank you!
