Karachi doesn’t have a public transport system, so we recommend that you either book a car service through hotels / agencies (we’re happy to recommend), download Careem (the Uber of Pakistan) and use that to get around, or reach out to us to arrange transportation for you.
As a developing country, Pakistan’s infrastructure still sadly lacks. Many places cook food with unsafe drinking water. We recommend you check in with us on where to eat, and always drink only mineral bottled water (don’t drink tap water, PLS!)
Pakistan is an Islamic republic, and it might be a bit of a culture shock coming from the West. While that doesn’t take away from how beautiful the country is, and how genuinely nice the citizens of Karachi / Pakistan are, we recommend dressing in ‘modest’ western fashion - jeans and a tshirt are perfectly fine, but feel free to reach out to us with questions on what to carry.
We recommend either getting a WiFi hotspot device (look into Charjis) or a Pakistani SIM card that has data through Zong or Jazz/Mobilink (not sure if Verizon has roaming in Pakistan at reasonable rates!). Internet is widely available everywhere, but might be a little slower than the 5G that you’re used to :)
