We both knew of each other from growing up in "The Dena". We went to different high schools and both of us will tell you we went to "the better high school in Pasadena". From here, Facebook is actually responsible for our first interaction with words. Back to a simpler time in 2012, when Facebook was used for some good, I made a comment that I was "going to try CrossFit for the first time". This simply meant, I was going to Gold's Gym with two friends and doing a workout we saw on YouTube. Butch messaged me privately after seeing my post and told me he was a CrossFit Coach and he'd be willing to show us some stuff if we wanted to meet with him next time. My friends and I took him up on his offer and thus birthed our obsession with CrossFit and each other.
We bought our first home November of 2020. We moved in on Saturday, November 21st. After most of the unpacking was finished, Butch suggested a shot of Tequila to celebrate (of course). With my Mom, Brother and best friend there, Butch announced we had something else to celebrate and that's when he pulled the ring out of his pocket. It was a complete shock! I believe a "what is that?!" was the first thing to come out of my mouth, followed by some tears and a "yes".
The answer is yes. We never wanted a traditional wedding so a courthouse wedding in Annapolis, MD was the perfect option for us. Unfortunately because of COVID, we couldn't celebrate with everyone. So, we decided on a big backyard celebration the following year.
