Great food and shopping hall right on the Atlanta Beltline. For those who know it, you can think of it like Chelsea Market, but bigger! The Ponce City Roof is a fun place to play mini golf and carnival games. You can drive from hotels or walk ~45 minutes via Piedmont Park and the Beltline.
Walk on the Atlanta Beltline (similar concept to the High Line in NYC) and stop by fun bars and restaurants along the way. Jon recommends riding a scooter to optimize your time.

According to the website, "Dragon Con is the largest multi-media, popular culture convention focusing on science fiction & fantasy, gaming, comics, literature, art, music, and film in the universe." The annual parade is usually on Saturday morning in Downtown Atlanta (no ticket required).
