D: Ok so basically it all started in Baghdad... M: Wait wait wait, I think this should start back in Boone! D: I mean we don’t want to bore them though… M: Ok fine I think you at least have to start with the night before! D: Ok true! So March 13th, the evening before Baghdad, I needed to get to a doctors appointment to get my knee injury inspected and Madi very kindly offered to drive me there. So we go in, the doctor asks Madi if she wants to join and she says sure which was sweet... M: but also funny because I was sitting there and the doctor was telling me everything like I was Doran’s girlfriend or wife already. D: So I got the knee checked out, but was rushing through payment because there was a verryyy important Arsenal game that we had to watch! M: And if you know Doran you know how much he loves soccer. D: Football. M: Anyways....so we are looking around and found the game in a little convenient store and the owner invited us in. D: So in true Iraqi fashion, the owner gave us chairs and a cold beverage, and then we proceeded to watch Arsenal win. Lets gooooo. So we go home happy and I am like woah, that was so fun, but wait, am I catching feelings? M: While I go home so confused because I have had a crush on Doran since Boone but I knew he didn't catch feelings. But that night just felt different. D: Right, so that sets the stage for Baghdad. M: So we are getting ready for a 4am flight for a visa run to Baghdad and Doran offers to share his coffee with me... D: Which I thought was just a nice thing to do! M: And then you proceeded to share your lunch with me too! D: Ok true. And don't forget the hours of games we played before that! M: So basically Doran and I spent the whole day together in Baghdad having a blast which just threw me for a loop because I was like how am I supposed to not read into all of this extra attention! D: And I was like man, Madi and I are really getting along so well! This is so fun! M: Anyways, we get back from the trip and I am like ok I need to talk to Doran and tell him I can't keep being his friend because my feelings are too involved. D: Meanwhile I get back and I am like oh my goodness, I caught feelings for this girl! M: So I ask to go on a walk... D: And I am like ok I better go first because I think what is on my mind is pretty important! M: Then Doran shared his feelings and I was like whaaaaaaaat... well ok I don't need to say my piece then! D: And then after a few more confusing weeks... M: ...Very confusing D: I surprised Madi for a rooftop date and asked her to be my girlfriend!! M: So for us we call this part of our story our Baghdad moment! D: And then we had two hard but good years of long distance... M: Then a fun vacation trip to Nicaragua... D: And we got engaged! M: On Valentines Day <3 D+M: We can't wait to see you all and have you become a part of the next chapter in our story.
