Transportation and Hotels

Answer

The Cambria Calabasas is our preferred hotel, however, please stay wherever you wish. If you do not plan on staying at a location associated with our shuttle service we highly recommend scheduling a driver or ride-share service to take you back to your hotel ahead of your arrival. Ride-share services can be sparse in Malibu, especially in the later hours of the evening.

Weather and Location

We're hoping for a beautiful Southern California Summer day! August in Malibu is typically warm during the day averaging around the mid-80s and pleasant in the evenings averaging around the high 50s. Please note, that both the ceremony and reception will take place outdoors. The ceremony will be held at the Sycamore Lawn and will be partly shaded under the trees. The reception will take place at The Star Fountain overlooking the ocean and will not include shade. We ask guests to please bring jackets, sunglasses, and any necessary items so that they are comfortable outside.

Dress Code

Answer

The dress code for the wedding is Beach Formal. Ladies - formal beach dresses that make you feel elegant overlooking the ocean. All dress lengths and colors are welcome. Men - a suit or shirt and jacket. Tie optional. Please note: formal is different from black tie and a tux is not required. As previously noted, both the ceremony and reception will take place outdoors. We recommend the ladies wear heels suitable for walking on grass.
