Our Story

This love story began in rare fashion; the couple met on a Hinge date (the app designed to be deleted). Ethan took two weeks to respond to Maddy (playing the game - it worked), but thankfully something told her she should meet up with him. Following some flirtatious messages and texts, they went to a bar that couldn’t seat them, and ended up choosing an aboriginal cave-themed bar down the street. In what seemed like the blink of an eye, five or six hours had gone by, and their future was written in the stars. Although sparks flew immediately, like any good relationship, there were obstacles to overcome. Ethan couldn’t tell if Maddy actually liked him, and Madeline didn’t know whether or not she was going to friendzone him. As their friendship grew, their relationship grew with it. One evening (as the hero of the story typically does), Madeline took a leap of faith and perhaps a couple of shots of tequila, and pushed through the awkward barrier to make it official, asking every man’s favorite question: “what are we?” As they say, the rest is history. Beginning a new relationship at the start of COVID was a test. Could this newly minted couple have survived without game-changing innovations like the Netflix party or the magic of GIFs? Who’s to say. Through the ups and downs, they persevered, and perseverance is the foundation of any good relationship. In September of 2023, it was Ethan’s turn to take the leap of faith and propose in Nantucket. To his delight, Madeline decided on “yes” and made him the happiest dude alive. Through their five-year journey together, Madeline & Ethan shared incredible trips to new places, met some fantastic people, and grew closer together every single day. This past year, they moved out of San Francisco to Petaluma (about 45 minutes North of SF), and are loving the change of pace from the hustle & bustle of the city (the warm weather ain’t too bad either). Thank you to everyone who reads this for being an important part of our lives! We love you and hope to see you at the wedding. Love, Madeline & Ethan
