Josh and Maddy met as interns at Cherokee Town and Country Club the Summer of 2018. After being introduced by a chef at the club, Maddy immediately wrote Josh off after a previous experience with a Miami Culinary intern. It wasn’t long after that that Josh would come in early on the days Maddy opened the snack bar to do some of her side work before beginning his own for the day just so he could talk and distract her more. Maddy gave Josh many chances to ask her for her number and finally forced it into his phone. After many late nights of watching movies together with all of the interns Josh returned to Miami. Josh and Maddy facetimed almost every night and even took a trip to Universal with their friend Adan so they could see each other. Their love grew.
 
On their first date Josh took Maddy to a Chinese restaurant where they both got food poisoning and Josh missed a flight back to Miami. When Josh finally returned to Atlanta they became inseparable and truly spent as much time as they could together. A big milestone was when they decided to adopt their puppy, Hera, while in Kansas City visiting while Cherokee was shut down for COVID. Josh and Maddy’s love was tested daily with training and taking care of a puppy, but she turned out to be one of their biggest blessings. Josh and Maddy moved into a small home in Smyrna to give Hera a yard and Maddy more closet space. This was the first big step into the next chapter of their lives and love. Josh and Maddy share a love of food, drinks, movies, traveling, and spending as much time together as they can. Josh and Maddy know that they are each other’s “person” and wouldn’t take back any moment of their story. Nothing could excite them more than to commit to each other in front of friends and family in January of 2023!
