Maddi- "Richard and I met while working at an adoption agency. We connected right away because we both came from foster care backgrounds. It was like we just understood each other without needing to say much. Over a year, our friendship turned into something more. But then, Richard moved to Michigan to work for four months. Even with the distance, we kept things going with countless hours of calls and a dozen handwritten letters. Now, I'm thrilled to marry him! Richard, I'm so excited to share this life with you!" Richard- "I remember the first time I met Maddi; I knew I had to have her in my life. I remember having a huge crush right off the bat, so I did what any man like me would do... I stayed quiet. After our first meeting, I told my brother, 'Dude, did you see that girl...,' and I remember him saying something along the lines of, 'Bro, she kept looking at you.' As time went by working with her, I began to fall for her, and our connection began to grow. We had been through a lot in our lives, and for once, I could have someone who understood my feelings, but I just wasn't sure how she felt about me. Then one February, she opened up to me about how she felt. I'm glad she shot her shot because I didn't feel like I deserved such a woman, that gave me a window to tell her my feelings. She is now my cornerstone, and with her, I feel deserving of pure happiness. She was there for the worst day in my life, and she will now be part of the best day in my life.
