Here are a few suggestions from our venue of things to do in the immediate area.
About 2 hours from the Venue. Stowe is known for it's quaint Vermont feel. It has many famous breweries including Von Trapp Brewery, Alchemist Brewery and Maddie's favorite brewery Rock Art Brewery. You can also stop by Cold Hollow Cider Mill for cider donuts and cider/hard cider tastings.
Very Close to Stowe, Waterbury is known for it's historical downtown. Just outside of Waterbury is the Ben and Jerry's factory where you can tour the facility and of course tast ice cream!
Burlington is Vermont's most populated City. With UVM at the heart of the city, it boasts hip restaurants. Church Street Marketplace as lots of shops that sell local Vermont products. Burlington also has many breweries to explore. The city is on lake Champlain. There is a path along the lakefront where you can enjoys the views of the Vermont and New York mountains across the lake. South of Burlington the Shelbourne Museum is a short drive from the city. It is an open air museum where you can walk along beautiful paths to explore the historic buildings and a boat that has been brought to the large property.
Bennington has a cute downtown. It is south of the Green Mountain National forest where lots of hiking is available. You can go see the Bennington Monument where you can climb to the top to see views of Vermont, New York and Massachusetts. About 30 minutes north of the city, you can visit the The Lincoln Family Home Hildene.
Woodstock is a small town. It has lots of good restaurants. Famous for the Simon Pierce restaurant which requires a reservation. It is also known for its spas and Billings Farm and Museum. You can also see a classic Vermont covered bridge at the Taftsville covered bridge. Just east of Woodstock you can visit the famous Quechee gorge. A large gorge that you can hike along and the the bottom when it is warm enough you can see people swimming in the watering holes. If you park at the visitor center, you can follow the path down to the edge. There is also a large Vermont Antique mall that you can walk through.
