We met in 2012, back in high school, James a junior and I a senior. After a football game one Friday night, the entire marching band gathered at the local Pizza Hut to celebrate and hang out. Through the recommendation of a mutual friend, James mustered up his courage and asked me to the upcoming homecoming dance in front of all of my friends. Because we had never spoken before and I was surprised at the offer, I replied with a cool "um, I don't know". James awkwardly went back to his table, unsure what to do with that response. After discussion with my girls and the persuasions of "You should go with him. He's really nice!" and "It'll be fun, besides, you don't have to date him" I decided I would go. So I went up to his table, in front of his friends, and told him that I would like to be his date to the dance. I said "I don't know" to be his date, "Yes" to be his girlfriend, "Absolutely" to be his fiance, and I am honored to say "I do" to be his wife.
