LETS DO THIS THING!

2008 , he didn't know, but I knew from the beginning one day that I was going to marry him . We took each other's number and of course I was the one that couldn't wait to text him so I texted him first. We started talking and realized we had mutual friends. We unfortunately lost touch for a few months after not being able to work out due to other relationships and outside factors. Randomly, he texted me to follow up and we have been inseparable ever since. Finally my dream that I have been wanting for forever happened and we cannot wait to celebrate the start of a our new beginning.

Jelani’s 30th birthday was coming up, so with my future sister in law at the time , we decided to plan him a surprise red carpet themed 30th birthday party . In the midst of covid we managed to pull of the most elegant red carpet event . ( safely of course ) . Little did I know that jelani was getting down on one knee that night and he had no idea the amount of love he was going to recieve at that party from family and friends . WE LITERALLY SURPRISED EACHOTHER !! Throughout the whole party he was walking around telling everyone what was about to happen that night , and I had no idea what was coming . At the end of the party Jelani started to make a long speech thanking everyone who came to celebrate his birthday . He named everyone including me but he called me in front of everyone . I still didnt think anything of it becuase he was always known for making speeches in a specific way . In the microphone he started telling about our love story briefly, and thanked me in a way where I thought to myself “ omg what is happening “. At that very moment it didnt hit me until he said “ im asking you if you can give me the gift of forever “ right then and there I knew that my best friend was asking me to take this ride with him forever . He always tells me that the best gift for his birthday was me saying yes to him . LITERALLY THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE
