It's about 35 minutes away in Boone (Go Apps!) but, in my opinion, quite worth it. This is where I ate after graduating with my Bachelor's; it occupies one of the oldest and most historical buildings in town that has served as Boone's first hospital and a rooming house for students at (then) Appalachian Teacher's College. It features all-you-can eat home cookin' such as fried chicken, country ham biscuits, vegetables, mashed potatoes, desserts.....you get the idea...see full menu at: http://www.danlbooneinn.com/menu.php
