We met on Facebook dating. Both of us almost done with dating for a while, considering past luck we’d had on dating apps. We had matched once and then I took a break from the apps. I got back on and we matched again! We agreed to meet and I almost missed it because I was down at Grandpa’s. I got back in time and we met for dinner. Both of us weren’t ready for the night to end, so we tried to go to Recbar, but they were out of tokens (what?!?). We ended up driving around and talking for several hours. At the end of the night, he dropped me off at my car and gave me the sweetest little kiss and kissed me on my forehead and I was smitten! A little over a week later, we took a little road-trip to Newport Aquarium. It was so much fun, until the elevator ride back to the car. At the bottom it julted and I instantly got sick to my stomach. This poor man, I knew was then a keeper, because I got sick and then drooled on him the whole day home. He came back the next day with chicken noodle soup, Sprites and flowers. He took care of me and we laid in bed watching Aladdin. He asked me to be his girlfriend that day and we’ve been inseparable ever since!
We went to dinner with my parents, my best friend and her husband at the The Old Spaghetti Factory in Louisville. We did this as a precursor to going to The Nutcracker, except we were never going to see it! This was Dennis’s way of getting people together without me being suspicious. Once dinner was over, we went outside to get ready to walking to the theater. There was a horse and carriage out front and a bunch of preteen/teenage girls dressed as Disney princesses (that part wasn’t planned, but cute). Mom was trying to get a picture of the horse and carriage and I was distracted talking to the princesses. Morgan called me over and told me how much she loved me and how happy she was that I was happpy with Dennis. My exact reaction was “uhm, okay”, because I didn’t know why she was being weird and all up in her feels. 🤣 She told me to turn around and Dennis was on one knee! I’m going to be 100% honest and tell you all I had no idea what he actually said. I was in disbelief this was actually happening and everything sounded like Charlie Brown’s teacher (again 🤣). Once his mouth stopped moving, I said yes! I may not have known at the moment what he was actually saying, but I knew what he was asking and of course, I wanted and still want to spend my life with this man. The horse and carriage were actually there for us, I then figured out! We rode around in it, looking at Christmas lights, and just talking. It was so nice to have that time one on one right afterwards. Between that, having my parents, Morgan and Eddie there and saying yes to the man of my dreams, I couldn’t imagine a better proposal! 💍♥️
