Take a hike...up Belleayre Mountain that is. This is about a 10 minutes drive from our venue and while it might be too early in the season to break out your skis or shred the gnar for all you snowboarders, it's just a lovely mountain that we can all appreciate for existing.
A lovely wooded walk with stone walls and a John Burroughs memorial marker. Our favorite trail to snowshoe and hike. Your GPS may take a wrong turn from HWY 28 onto Spisaks Way (a private road). The correct road off HWY 28 is Matyas Road. Look out for signs on the highway telling you where to turn.
Looking for the perfect family photo? Palmer Hill is our go to when we want to be reminded of how gorgeous the Catskills can be. There's also a hiking trail nearby which we've never been on because we're usually standing still in awe of our surroundings.
One of our favorite restaurants we've discovered in the Catskills, Oda Wine Garden has a great selection of Balkan food along with a variety of wines. We love the Balkan platter here and it's an ideal spot for small groups and couples looking to share a few dishes.
Brews with views is why we enjoy traveling to this local off the beaten path brewery, which is about an hour's drive from our venue. There's usually a local food truck here as well if you need a quick snack.
If you're looking for a seasonal tasting menu dining experience, Brushland Eating House is the spot you'll want to make a reservation for in advance. It's about a 45 minute drive from our venue and the portions tend to be a lot (at least for two people) so come hungry.
A great spot for breakfast and coffee, Cafe Mutsi has a nice selection of home made pastries and small plates (quiche, carrot salad etc). If you're traveling to Andes, this is a good spot to head to first to fuel up.
We love Korean food and Cafe Mornings is our place upstate to stuff our face with bibimbap and Korean toast sandwiches. This is one of our favorite spots for breakfast and coffee in the area, and they also just started offering dinner service which we can't wait to try (so maybe you can tell us how it is?)
Another one of our go to breakfast sandwich spots, Folsom Point has a solid menu including plenty of vegetarian options as well as smoothies and juices too.
One of the newest spots to open in our village. Doolittle's is your go to spot for early morning coffee and a pastry. They also have an AMAZING selection of curated food and drink products for sale too.
We've eaten here a few times and if you're looking for Mexican food in the area, this is your best bet.
This is one of our must visits when heading to the Catskills. A beautiful and memorable dining room featuring a great variety of locally sourced American classics, and about a 10 minute drive from our wedding venue so a great option for dinner. Try to make a reservation in advance as it can get crowded on weekends.
The spot we dined at right before we decided to buy our house. Also, wood fired everything!
A perfect fall weekend includes cider, and Wayside is the place to get it. There's a full food menu and a game room too.
While we haven't been inside Union Grove, this is our local distillery and they just added a brewery at the same location too. Let us know what we should order.
This is a historic hotel with a restaurant and bar in the heart of Andes, one of the most charming towns we've come across in our Catskills adventures.
We're a big fan of this little spot's menu and usually split a smashburger. The desserts are excellent.
We like Zada's as a pre or post dinner spot and suggest one of their cheese plates. The menu isn't too big but it's got a nice vibe if you're just looking for drinks and light bites.
Our favorite local gallery and a great place to pop into if you're traveling to Andes, which we highly recommend.
This is our village's art gallery where you can find the work of many Catskills based artists.
This is an easy, flat trail you can enjoy in the town of Andes that follows along the old rail trail.
