Our engagement story

July 4th, 2023

Hayden planned a sunrise hike at this beautiful trail and was so excited to pop the question at the top! Unfortunately his alarm for 4 am did not wake him up in time and by then it was too late! (We had early morning plans!) Despite Hayden calling me and begging me to still do the hike, I had no clue his plans and thought it was silly to go late and be late for the plans we had later that morning. Hayden was so worried about missing his opportunity to propose so my mom sent us a short hike that she thought would be perfect to do that afternoon since we missed the one that morning. Hayden had never been on this hike so he didn’t even know if he wanted to propose there! We went and it was absolutely beautiful. It was a short walk to this beautiful creek and waterfall. There weren’t many people there and Hayden found a secluded spot to take some pictures and look at the beautiful scenery. We were getting ready to leave but Hayden had me come back by the creek for one more “photo”. All of a sudden he gets down on one knee and pulls out a ring from his pocket!! My initial reaction was complete shock as I had no clue that this was happening, so I said “is this real!?”. And then I started bawling tears of joy. Once I realized how much Hayden had to change his plans and go with the flow to surprise me with his proposal, I was so thankful that he was so flexible and creative! It was a special moment that I had been waiting for since we fell in love. Hayden is my best friend and we are so happy to share our special day with you all!
