FAQs

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP no later than April 20th, 2025 using the RSVP tab on our website (RSVP tab will open once the formal invitations have been mailed). This will allow us to give an accurate final head count to all vendors and ensure that everyone attending will have a designated place setting.

Question

Is there parking available near the venue?

Answer

There is parking available at the front of the venue.

Question

What type of transportation is there to/from the venue?

Answer

The venue is located 35-45 minutes away from airports in Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo. There is no public transportation system near the venue, so appropriate plans should be made prior to the event for both arrival and departure from the property. Our venue has notified us that in the past guests have been able to use Lyft when pre-arranged.

Question

Will your wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Both the ceremony and the reception are outdoors. The ceremony is located on grass, therefore high, spiky heels will sink into the lawn. The reception is being held in a covered pavilion but is still open-air. There are both ceiling fans and heaters in the pavilion to help control the temperature.

Question

What is the dress code for your wedding?

Answer

We are requesting that guests dress in cocktail attire. Please refrain from wearing any colors traditionally worn by the bride including white, cream, beige, or ivory.

Question

Am I allowed to bring a plus one?

Answer

Unfortunately, due to budget and space limitations, we simply can’t afford for all of our lovely guests to bring a guest of their own. Therefore, we ask guests to please not bring a plus one, unless it is specifically indicated on your invitation.

Question

Am I allowed to bring my children?

Answer

We love your children, but due to budget and space restrictions we cannot host any children at our wedding, unless it is specifically indicated on your invitation.

Question

What type of food will be served at your wedding?

Answer

We will be serving hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour followed by a "South of the Border" buffet style dinner (think taco bar)! Our caterer is able to accommodate most dietary restrictions and will provide gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan menu options, but these must be ordered in advance so please be sure to note your dietary preferences when you RSVP.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

We are having a beer and wine unlimited bar with liquor available for cash! There will also be non-alcoholic beverages such as coffee, tea, soda, and lemonade available at no cost. Our venue has informed us that all individuals consuming alcohol will be carded, so please be sure to bring your ID. Additionally, there are no shots allowed and the bartenders do not make blended drinks.

Question

Am I allowed to take photos at your wedding?

Answer

We are having an unplugged ceremony, meaning we ask that during the ceremony you do not take any photos or videos on your personal device. This is so that guests are not distracted by their devices and our professional wedding photographer can get the best possible shots without the interference of other flashes or mobile screens. After the ceremony feel free to take as many photos and videos as you would like!

Question

Anything else I should note?

Answer

Food cannot be taken to go, back to lodging accommodations, or offsite - this is a Michigan law. Michigan law does not allow smoking or vaping in areas where food and beverages are being served. This includes lawn areas, fire-pits, and lodging accommodations. Smoking is allowed in designated areas only. No outside food or alcohol is allowed to be brought into event/public areas.
