The famous Emerald Bay is a must see! There is a viewing area at the top with a small parking lot or street parking (which can get a little tight). Walk down to the beach or take a look at the stone mansion Vikingsholm. The Rubicon trail loops around the bay out to the lake and has some incredible views. This connects to DL Bliss State Park as well. Be aware that the uphill hike back up to the parking lot will definitely get your heart rate up and steal your breath, so take it slowly.
Zephyr cove is a great spot to check out, and it’s really close to South Lake Tahoe. The beach is nice, and you may want some blankets and an umbrella for some shade. Large stones protect the cove from the open waters, so it’s a bit warmer here and great to take a dip!
Check out some amazing views of Lake Tahoe with a scenic gondola ride.
