FAQs

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

To keep within the guest count limit of our venue, we will only have kids within our immediate family. You will only be able to RSVP for a specific number of people, so that should eliminate any uncertainty. If we were able to accommodate your kids, they'll be included in your party when you RSVP. Depending on their age, there is even a small space outdoors for them to play. However, please keep in mind that our venue is a live, working farm, which means there may be animals nearby, as well as an electric fence, so we only ask that you keep an eye on them to prevent any injuries.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We'd like our friends and family to get dressed up with us and celebrate, but we care about your comfort the most. Jeans are okay by us--think relaxed Sunday best! Please know that we are getting married in a barn with a partial sawdust floor, so we recommend skipping heeled/open-toed shoes, or anything too long/trailing.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

When you RSVP online or by mail, you'll know whether or not you have a plus one. If you RSVP online, you'll be given the names in your party, and you will only be able to bring those individuals. We do have a limit on our guest count, so please keep that in mind if you weren't given a plus one.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes, there will be plenty of parking next to the barn in a field. We only ask that you park considerately and leave folks plenty of room to move without needing to find the owner of a car that might be blocking them in.

Question

Do you have hotel suggestions?

Answer

Yes! We primarily recommend using the Crossroads Inn in Salem. If you're looking to make a weekend of it, you could consider renting a cabin at Echo Bluffs (an hour and ten minutes away) or Montauk State Park (30 minutes away). There has also been an increase in Air B&B rentals in Salem in the past couple of years, so you could also check there. In many cases, lodging at local state parks fill up quickly, so you would want to book those sooner rather than later. Another option would be to rent a hotel room in Rolla, MO (just 26 miles from Salem). Rolla has a much larger variety of restaurants, shopping, and hotels, which could make it the better choice for your stay. We will not have hotel blocks reserved, so lodging accommodations are the guest's responsibility (but we are more than happy to answer any questions!).

Question

What kind of food will be served? Should I eat before?

Answer

We plan on having an extensive spread of assorted charcuterie, cheese, fruit, dips, and more. We will also have cupcakes in lieu of the traditional cake to ensure there's something for everyone. Please be sure to denote any food allergies or dietary restrictions in your RSVP (there will be a specific question on this) so that we can be sure to have something for you. There will also be alcoholic & nonalcoholic beverage options available.

Question

What should I do if I can't make it?

Answer

If you can't make it, please know that you will be missed! Once you know whether or not you're able to attend, we ask that you RSVP as soon as possible so that we can keep that in mind for our food count, seating arrangement, etc.

Question

I still have questions--who should I contact?

Answer

Please feel free to contact either Carson or Luke with any additional questions you might have. On the day of the wedding, though, we will provide everyone with a different point of contact since we will be busy. :)
