Our story began in the charming town of Trois-Pistoles, Quebec, during a French immersion program hosted by the University of Western Ontario in 2015. Luke, a true Torontonian, and Alyssa, hailing from Lethbridge, crossed paths in the most unexpected way. After many late night phone calls, Luke and Alyssa started dating in October 2018, shortly after Alyssa made the move to Toronto for her master's degree. In 2020 Luke and Alyssa decided to kickstart their next chapter and move to the stunning landscapes of Alberta. With a shared love for hiking, scrabble battles, walks along the river, camping under the stars, a cold beer at happy hour, and exploring new destinations, they’re always ready to seek out new adventures together.

We embarked on a weekend getaway to Jasper, where unpredictable weather seemed determined to rain on our engagement parade. Luke, ever the mischievous one, led Alyssa to several fake-out engagement spots, leaving her both confused and amused. But our luck turned around when we reached Pyramid Island, renowned as the "island of love." In a stroke of impeccable timing, as the sun burst through the clouds, Luke dropped to one knee in a hidden nook. The rest of the weekend was a joyous blur of scrumptious food, delightful drinks, and adventuresome hikes, sealing our engagement with laughter and love.
