We first met at the soccer fields; playing on the same team with mutual friends. Nick took interest in Megan and always passed her the ball but she never noticed (of course). Megan claims Nick was quiet and never talked to her. The only thing she remembers is Nick laughing at her when she couldn't find her shin guard, when it was still on her leg. Nick decided to ask Megan to dinner one night after a team hangout fell through. The first date was pizza at Eddie & Sams followed by watching March Madness. From there, they connected over their love for sports and food.

Megan and Nick had a trip planned to Banff, Canada since May 2017 but right before the trip they had to escape Hurricane Irmas' path. Nick was worried the trip wouldn't happen as he knew he was going to propose to Megan. Fortunately they had one of the last flights out of Tampa that morning. The whole trip Nick was carrying the ring in his backpack waiting for the right time to propose. On the fourth day of the trip, Nick and Megan went to Moraine Lake and knew that this was the spot he wanted to propose. They walked around for a bit while Nick was scoping out the perfect spot; he found the spot and set up the GoPro to secretly filmed the proposal. Megan was shocked and surprised but enthusiastically said yes!
