Are kids invited?

Answer

Kids are most definitely invited to Nicaragua, this is your vacation! There are plenty of fun activities for them. However, we do want evening events to be be your night off! Daycare and babysitters are available for booking at the Ranch to make that a reality. Please let us know if you plan to have them join us in Nicaragua. Kids Club is offered for kids older than 4 years old, kids under this age can be in the area accompanied by a babysitter. Please contact concierge@ranchosantana.com to arrange services. Babysitting services rates: Bilingual babysitting service: U$ 30 + taxes per hour Non-bilingual babysitting service: U$ 20 + taxes per hour *One child per nanny/ Please reserve 12 hours in advance./ Service 24/7 *Rates are subject to change Kids club schedules: Morning pass: 9am-12md. $20 + taxes per kid Studio Pass: 1pm-4pm. $ 20 + taxes per kid Kids Night Out: 5pm-9pm $ 40 + taxes per kid

What should I pack for this trip?

Answer

Rancho Santana is a casual beach community. There is no dress code on property. Beachy attire and swimsuit are highly recommended for your downtime. Event attire: Welcome Party - resort wear Party on La Playa - swimsuits/ beachwear Wedding Ceremony & Reception - Formal, long colorful dresses and suits are encouraged! Some of the beaches are rocky, I will be packing my tevas and sneakers to hike and be able to walk on the rocks. All accommodations are stock with shampoo, conditioner, body wash and a hairdryer. Laundry services for personal items can be provided with a price of $20.00 per load.

What kind of shoes should/shouldn’t I wear for the wedding ceremony?

Answer

There are a bunch of grassy/sandy areas that you might have to walk in so chunky heels or wedges will likely be more comfortable.

Do we need to rent a car?

Answer

No, when you're on property at Rancho Santana they will manage all of your transportation to/from our planned events.

Staying Connected

Answer

Nicaragua uses the same electrical current and outlets as the United States (110 volts). All accommodations are equipped with back-up power to run lights and basic appliances in the event of unplanned outages. Complimentary high-speed internet is available at all accommodations and clubhouses. Please note, the import and use of drones in Nicaragua is strictly prohibited. Professional equipment for commercial use may be subject to a additional customs and import documentations and fees.

Currency & Credit Cards

Answer

The local currency is Cordobas (NIO) however US Dollar is preferred. Rancho Santana uses a cashless system for goods and services purchased on property or arranged by their staff unless otherwise noted. Upon your arrival, you will open an account and everything, including off property excursions, can be charged back to your room. Rancho Santana accepts Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. A 15% IVA (Nicaraguan Sales Tax) Will be added to all charges at The Ranch, and a 10% gratuity is automatically included at their dining venues. For all other services, tipping is similar to the United States.
