We met at a restaurant called Doc’s Taco Shop. My plan was to meet there with my friend Taylor and her husband, Bailey. I get there and Bailey says, “My friend, Logan, is in town. Do you care if he joins?” I didn’t think much of it. Logan arrives and as soon as he walks over to the table, we make eye contact and he says to me, “um, what are you doing here?! It’s your night to have the kids!” Without skipping a beat I said, “Actually, it’s your night to have them!” At this point, Taylor and Bailey are confused. They said, “Do y’all know each other?” We had a good laugh and officially introduced ourselves. We have been together ever since.
It was two days before Christmas and freezing outside. Logan had been telling me all week that his work Christmas party was that weekend. I had been dreading going and wasn’t in the best of mood. Once I’m ready, I get a text from my boss. (During this time, I was working two jobs and Doc’s Taco Shop just so happen to be my other job and the place where we first met) She texts me, “Hey, I just left the restaurant and accidentally left the lights on. I’m headed out of town and can’t turn around. Do you mind running up there to shut them off?” I never say no, so I agree to do it. (Plus I live about 5 minutes from the place anyway.) We get there and Logan gets out of the car and follows. I thought it was odd because I was only going to flip a switch but I didn’t care much. I just kept thinking we were going to be late to his work party. I open the gate and there is a trail of rose petals. I stopped and just stared. I said “What is this?” (Obviously knew what was happening) His favorite song starts to play over the speaker and he guides me down to the stage. He got down on one knee and I said “Yes!” It was so cold outside, I don’t even remember the words he said to me. I just couldn’t believe he took us back to where it all started.
