7 years ago in their freshman year of college Nick was introduced to Logan by his best man Nicholas. Prior to this in high school, Nick only knew Logan as the pretty girl who drove the burgundy F150. After being introduced in college, they became friends and spent many weekends with mutual friends at Logan’s families’ camp in Karthaus, PA. Their first date was at Quaker Steak in Erie of 2014. Although the date did not lead to anything, Nick and Logan kept in touch the years following but slowly drifted apart. In the spring of 2021, almost 6 years later, while Nick was in Texas and Logan was in New York, the two reconnected and began talking again. The talks got longer and eventually led to the couple reconvening for an afternoon of quad riding, dog walking and an all-night catch-up next to a campfire in Ellwood City laughing and reminiscing about old times until close to 3 AM. It was at this point where Nick knew that he had found the one. It had been almost 4 years since the couple had seen each other but Nick saw very quickly that Logan was still the same old Logan - The most beautiful girl in the world, hardest working person he’d ever met, someone who loves to laugh, and the best friend a guy could ask for. He could write a 5 paragraph essay about Logan’s qualities- she is perfect. Logan makes Nick a better person every day. Soon after their “second first date” the couple quickly grew very close. Nick was working the rigs on a 14/14 schedule in Texas and Logan was working at Tessy up in New York. Even tho the two were almost 2,000 miles apart, their relationship was always a top priority for both and always grew stronger. Fast forward a year and a half and the two got engaged on Skaneateles pier in New York, the same place where they started dating.
Nicholas introduced Nick to me the first day of college. The three of us hung out a lot and one night Nick asked if I wanted to go to Quaker Steak for wing night. Of course, I said yes, because who does not love wings! Nick picked me up and I asked where Nicholas was, and Nick said he was in class. Little did I know at the time that that was a lie and Nick was actually taking me on a date (but I did not find this out until 2021). Nick and I continued to be friends and slowly drifted apart as he went to main campus, and I was still at Behrend for college. We still do not know why, but one day we reconnected, and the rest is history. I was going to be back in Pittsburgh the same weekend he was home, so we decided to go to his property with Rebel. Time went by way too fast as we were catching up and it was 3 AM by the time we looked at the clock. I knew that night sitting on the back of his truck that he was the one and this was going to be different. The feeling scared me as I had never had that before, but I was excited to see what the future held for us. After that weekend, I went back to New York and Nick went back to the rig in Texas. We did not see each other frequently and Nick was working nights but we always made time to talk for an hour or so every day. Slowly Nick started spending more and more time in NY on his days off where we grew our relationship. Nick is the best thing for me. Nick is the calm to my storm, my biggest supporter, someone I look up to both personally and professionally, and my better half. I am excited to continue our journey through life together.
