We met our Junior year of high school during an ACT study hall. Steph had just changed high schools to ASH and we had no idea how much we had in common yet. Later that week, we saw each other again at one of the first meetings of our high school robotics team. She was one of the only girls that was in the club and I remember thinking how cool that was. We worked closely over the next two years designing and programming the robots we competed at the State and World competitions. She became my best friend and I wouldn't change how we met for anything.
We both had previously visited Boston and had developed such a love for the city. When we were trying to plan a small trip together after a semester of long-distance, we decided that visiting one of our best friends (shoutout Chloe!!) in Boston would be so fun! We had so much fun the first few days and went exploring from sunrise until sunset every single day enjoying all of the wonderful food and museums that the city has to offer. The morning of the last day, He asked me to wear a cute outfit because Chloe would be coming along to take pictures of us going around the city. Super obvious lol. So we started the morning with a hike through the Harvard arbortorium and we took photos of the Boston Skyline. Then we went to the most beautiful area of Boston, Beacon Hill, and took photos with the beautiful Christmas decor and still no special question. I was starting to get suspicious because he was acting so strange. Then we went to the Boston Pier where there are hundreds of gorgeous sailboats in the harbor and he walked straight past it to the Christmas market and I remember being so confused because I 100% could see the ring box in his back pocket. Then on the way to the uber, we walked back along the pier and he FINALLY asked me to marry him! Of course I said yes but I immediately asked him what the heck he was doing all day. He said that he loved all of those places but they weren't pretty enough so he was waiting until the sky was perfect at sunset!! Boston is definitely our favorite city now!
