Grab a pastry/coffee, slide of Pizza off of Thurman in NW Portland and for for a leisurely walk on Lower MacLeay Trail. Hoyt Arboretum offers stunning gardens and tree collections. If you are bringing your kiddos, Oregon Zoo is also nearby!
