We both ended up in Tallahassee by different paths, but it didn’t take long for our worlds to collide. Carson, originally from South Carolina, had moved here for work as an athletic trainer. Liz, a Mexico City native, relocated from Salt Lake City to pursue a nursing career. Our first interaction was at Tallahassee Orthopedic clinic where I(Liz) was shadowing Carson to get familiar with the job's responsibilities. Shortly after I accepted the position at TOC where we worked alongside each other as clinical floats for a year. We eventually started hanging out outside of work with other coworkers and planning trips to explore Tallahassee. As we spent more time together, something shifted. One memorable trip to Providence Canyon ended in a rainstorm soaked from head to toe, but it was filled with laughter and good times. Despite the chaos, I had no idea that Carson’s feelings were growing deeper. The turning point possibly came when I asked Carson to show me some bike trails around town. He took me on a 21-mile ride, pushing me to my limits, and I think that’s when I initially peaked Carson's interest. Afterward, we grabbed lunch, and I felt a sense of ease and friendship with him, which deepened as we continued to spend more time together. Eventually, Carson joined my gym, and I began riding bikes more often. Through all the adventures, laughter, and even some challenges, it became clear to both of us that this was something special. We’re excited to continue this journey, with all its ups and downs, together forever.
