We met while both working for Prudential Retirement in Dubuque, IA. Adams was working on the senior team and Liz had recently been promoted. When their boss introduced Liz to the team, he brought her to where her new desk would be located. Fate would have it that they would be sitting next to each other and sharing a cubicle. After many months of working together and spending time outside of work, Liz asked Adams to drive with her to Iowa City to meet a stranger off of Craigslist to pick up Taylor Swift tickets she had bought. On the way back, he wanted to stop at one of his favorite restaurants in Monticello, IA - The Jitney. They enjoyed some goodies and it felt like their friendship had changed into something more. That week while at work Adams worked up the courage and approached Liz and asked her to come to The Jitney again with his parents and their friends. Fast forward to the night of the dinner and Liz was sooo nervous to meet his parents. "I could barely eat or drink anything the entire night. I wish I had followed my sisters advice and downed a few drinks to gain some liquid courage". The dinner was a blast and from there on they continued going on dates and eventually Adams asked Liz to be his girlfriend.
