It was Saturday, January 11th (Ryan's birthday). I flew up to Columbus to visit for Ryan's 25th birthday and thought we would have a relaxing weekend together, cuddling with Dakota, watching movies, and ordering take out. Oh how I was fooled... Ryan asked me on Friday if I'd like to go to the botanical gardens in Columbus. It was raining and the gardens we're mostly indoors. We took Dakota to the dog park early in the morning, got all muddy, went to pick up the birthday cake I ordered, and headed back to change into 'date' clothes. We headed to the Franklin Park Botanical Gardens and started to walk around. It was beautiful and charming place for a date. I could tell Ryan was acting...weird/nervous/antsy but I wasn't sure why. I just thought maybe it was his birthday and he doesn't like attention... idk. So we walked around some more and ended our walk in the biggest part which was filled with glass sculptures, koi fish ponds, and luscious greenery... aka the perfect place for a photo! I found the perfect photo spot and after we walked around the entire exhibit we stopped to take the photo. One problem though... who was going to take it? Well, good thing there was a "random" guy standing right there, so Ryan said "hey, let's just ask him!" At this point, I could sense something suspicious was going on. So I agreed and handed this guy my phone. He starts going full photographer mode, getting all the shots and angles. I was about ready to say ok that's good when I felt Ryan fidget around in his pocket. At that very moment my heart almost exploded out of my chest because I KNEW IT WAS HAPPENING!! He got down on one knee, opened up the little red box, and inside was the most beautiful and sparkly diamond ring I have ever seen. I couldn't believe the man of my dreams was asking me to marry him. I cried and said YES! Ryan, I love you more than anything. I can't wait to spend forever with you. You're going to be the best partner and companion in life. -Olivia
