We're getting married!

Kyle and I first met in October 2015 when we were assigned to the same cross-industry practice group at Deloitte. it wasn't until the firm's annual audit end of busy season party at Arlington Race Track in June 2016 that we actually hit it off, thanks to Alexis and Johnny- who are old friends from high school. Alexis is my best friend who i met through work (my day one) and Johnny went to college with Kyle-- the two of them knowing each other was the best segue for Kyle and I to {actually} meet and become friends (thanks Lex and Johnny!!). after Arlington Race Track, Frank invited us to hang out on his boat and the rest is, as they say, history. lots and lots of history (hah!).

Kyle took me to dinner at Fisk & Co. on a Friday evening and afterward we took the riverwalk to meet up with Frank & Emily. right when we got to the corner of City Winery, Kyle got down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of his life with him. i said "YASSS!" (duh!) and before i could fully collect myself, i looked up and saw my sisters screaming out for joy at City Winery! my parents, my 3 sisters, my 2 brother-in-laws, and 2 of my best friends traveled all the way from Dallas, TX, Houston, TX, and Fort Wayne, IN to watch me get proposed to, along with Kyle's family and all of our best friends from Chicago. let me tell you, the riverwalk was the loudest and the liveliest i've ever seen it! we were far away enough from everyone to have shared that special moment with just us two, but close enough for our family and friends to have witnessed it. it was the perfect proposal. after we celebrated at City Winery, we continued the party at Flight Club for more drinks and some dart throwing. we ended the night dancing away at my fave bar, Bub City. the next day, we continued the celebration with an engagement brunch with my family and friends at the Publican, and then for the rest of the weekend i spent quality time with my family and with our newest soon-to-be Tran clan addition (Kyle!) at a beach house in Michigan City, Indiana. it was the perfect weekend. dream man, dream proposal, dream ring. can't wait to share with y'all our dream wedding!
