The Lisonbees 2023

The two of us met while working at the U of U Campus Store. In the fall of 2016 we had a mutual physics class and began working on homework together. After multiple late nights studying in the library, we knew we had a special connection. When the end of the semester came, we couldn't give up hanging out every day. We started seeing each other and our first kiss came on New Years Eve 2016 at the strike of midnight!

In April 2023 we fulfilled a lifelong dream and visited France. The beginning was far from a fairytale, but definitely had a happy ending! Rich had a conference in Bordeaux the week before the vacation. Anna flew out later intending to meet him there, but due to flight delays missed her connecting flight in Amsterdam. On a busy weekend no other flights were available, so she abandoned her checked bag and jumped on an overnight bus that was supposed to be headed for Paris. The bus ran late and she missed her transfer, so she rode the bus to Luxembourg, spent the rest of night in the Luxembourg train station, and caught a train in to Paris in the morning. Rich met Anna in Paris and rented a car to drive back to Bordeaux, where he proposed in the gardens of a beautiful chateaux. With the checked bag still back in Amsterdam, Anna said yes wearing all Rich's clothes! The rest of the trip was wonderful and we had a great time, but we will always remember what a crazy adventure it was to get to Bordeaux for our engagement!
