Our friends Chris and Emily graciously opened their yard to us and several friends and family so we could have an intimate, yet socially distant wedding. Lindsey and Hugh met at Courageous Sailing in 2012 with a little help from their friends. After about a year of dating, Hugh moved back to Maine and their relationship flourished over work Skype chats, weekend getaways, and many, many facetime calls. Although long distance was basically the worst thing ever, they stuck it out through Hugh's multi-country sailing schedule and Lindsey's "I've got three hours of Negotiations homework to finish" grad school schedule. (Clearly one of us is more fun than the other). In 2017 they moved to Providence together where they joyfully ate ice cream sandwiches most weekends and thoroughly proved that really, seriously, there was basically no one better to go rug-shopping with. Cape Cod. Minigolf. Ice cream. Drive-in movies. Bicycles. Sand Dunes. Getting lost, twice. Going for an unexpectedly long walk down a semi-flooded rock jetty. Was any of it planned? No one can say for sure. Only Hugh will ever know.
