Our Story

How we met

Like many others in today's dating scene, we first met online and the relationship started off like any other online match. It wasn't until our first date that we both realized that this encounter was anything but typical. Lindsey had just moved back to her hometown San Antonio from Denver and had been praying about the right time to start looking for a meaningful relationship in a new but all too familiar city. Evan had just become accustomed to living in his new apartment in the Alamo City and was continuing his search for love. The first date was at the scenic Ocho Lounge, right on the river in downtown San Antonio, and Evan made sure to reserve the best possible table. The first thing each of us remember when Lindsey first walked into that restaurant was our instant eye connection and cheesin' smiles. The next 2 hours was met with, as Lindsey likes to call it, "The most she has ever talked on a first date. Ever." Our shared interest in the great outdoors, our faith, good food, family, and good ole' Texas Country music, led to one of the easiest and most comfortable first dates either of us has ever had. It wasn't until the third date, at the Pearl brewery, that Evan got up the courage to move in for the first kiss, and the following year was filled with many more kisses and shared experiences.

Popping the Question

I don't know how or why, but I love you more everyday

The day was set, the plan was made, and Evan was not nervous at all (just kidding). The plan was to go out to one of Lindsey's favorite places on earth, Garner State Park, for a little birthday weekend getaway. Evan was all set to take Lindsey out to their favorite spot out on the Frio River, get down on one knee, and pop the question. It was going to be magical, but then COVID... State parks were closed and the big weekend turned into a stay at home weekend. But Evan was determined, he decided to not let COVID halt his plans and made Lindsey an amazing birthday dinner. After dinner, Evan presented Lindsey with a beautiful Easter Lily with the ring placed right at the base of the flower and in true Lindsey fashion, she only noticed the flowers. After what felt like an eternity to Evan, Lindsey finally noticed the box, and the rest is history.
