Our #1 Recommendation! (pictured above) Hamilton Cove is a private neighborhood perched on the cliffside of the cove just north of Descanso Beach Club (wedding venue). Most condos come with a golf cart rental to get around the island. There is more than one way to rent one of these condos including directly through the Hamilton Cove website, but we find the easiest way is to book through Catalina Island Vacation Rentals (website listed below) Whichever way you choose, if you want to stay here we recommend booking one of these ASAP! One of the more upscale hotels on the island with recent renovations. A great option for a hotel in town walking distance from everything! Please CALL the hotel when booking here and let them know that you are part of the Adams-Raymond wedding to be placed in our room block!

Pavilion Hotel

Easiest to access hotel in the heart of downtown Avalon. Ground level entry. Walking distance from everything in town but a bit further from from the wedding venue and have slightly smaller size rooms.

Catalina Hotel St Lauren

This is the only hotel in Avalon that allows 1 night reservations on weekends. For those of you who would like to make a quick trip and only stay Saturday night, this hotel is in town with a beautiful view. Just keep in mind that check-in time is only 3 hours before the start of the ceremony!

We use AirBnb for many of our travels and if none of the other listed options fit what you are looking for then feel free to look at renting a home in town! There are also some units in Hamilton Cove that are rented through AirBnb as well as VRBO.

Ferry Information

Travel to the island takes around 45 minutes and can be scheduled via the Catalina Express website for a total of around $80 round trip. Catalina Express provides service via Dana Point, Long Beach, and San Pedro. Long Beach and San Pedro have the most travel times per day. We hear that Costco sells tickets at discounted prices, which may be worth looking into. Those of you who prefer to travel from Newport Beach will need to book through the Catalina Flyer (which has much fewer travel times). No matter which mainland terminal you travel from, be sure to book your ferry into AVALON and not Two Harbors. Two harbors is quite far from Avalon and we would hate to have any of you miss any events. ***Catalina Express Ferry booking for May 2019 will not open up until March 2019 but once it does open we encourage you to book ASAP to ensure the best travel time availability.

If you will be flying into town the nearby airports are: John Wayne International Airport (SNA) Long Beach Airport (LGB) Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) We suggest researching the ferry departure times and travel between airport and ferry terminal prior to booking your flights to ensure the most seamless travel itinerary possible. Just make sure to book a ferry to AVALON and not Two harbors!
