We're Getting Married!

We met at Maloney's Sports Bar in Overland Park, KS in October 2014. I had recently became newly single and my friend Bre invited me to join her and her boyfriend (now husband) to watch the Kansas City Royals during a World Series game to take my mind off things. Little did I know, Bre's boyfriend (Chad Burks) invited his brother to come join us that night also. That night was so much fun cheering on the Royals and getting to know the Burks brothers. The next morning I sent Adam a message thanking him for picking up the tab for everyone. Two weeks later we went on our first date at Saki Sushi in KC & now here we are almost five years later.

We were in Lake Tahoe, CA on a ski trip, just the two of us. Adam and I had taken ski lessons the day prior so it was finally just us the next day. We had been skiing most of the morning when Adam skied about halfway down the mountain and said he was going to sit down to "take a break". Slightly annoyed, I started bickering about how we didn't come all the way to California for him to sit on his butt & that if he wanted to sit we could at least go to the bar and get a drink. Adam finally talked me into sitting down with him and at that point I knew something was up. After some sweet words, Adam told me that he thought our next trip should be to Maui - where we have always talked about getting married. Adam reached into his pocket to grab the ring. He didn't even have a chance to ask the question before I said "YES!".
