The two were set up on a blind date by Taylor's best friend's girlfriend Erika (thanks again Erika). They met for brunch at Silvi's in Olde Town Arvada, which is now unfortunately closed. The waitress spilled hot coffee all over Taylor and Lindsay managed not to laugh at all, which Taylor now realizes was extremely difficult for her. Taylor said if Lindsay had laughed there probably wouldn't have been a second date out of embarrassment. They hit it off, talking for hours, and the two have been inseparable ever since.

On Christmas morning Lindsay and Taylor had finished opening gifts when Taylor said there was one more and he needed Kevin's help (Lindsay's cat). He took Kevin into the office and put a bowtie on him, came out of the room and told Kevin to go get Lindsay. Lindsay picked up Kevin and investigated the bowtie collar, thinking the ring was on the collar. That's when Taylor bent down on one knee and asked Lindsay to be his forever and always (a reference to Lindsay's favorite band Parachute).
