Santa Monica Beach
We went here (or to get FroYo depending on your source) on our first date, and we got engaged here! It's a great beach for hanging out, swimming, going to the pier/arcade, walking/biking.
The Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens
Expansive art museum, botanical gardens, and library about 20 minutes away from the venue.
Griffith Park
Large park with some of the best views of Los Angeles, an observatory, and views of the Hollywood sign.
San Luis Obispo
City on the Central Coast of California (about 3.5 hours north of Los Angeles). It's a great city and convenient mid-way point if you are trying to drive up the California coast before/after the wedding. When here we love going to the San Luis Blues minor league games, going to local vineyards in the areas, or going to the beach in nearby Morro Bay!
Joshua Tree National Park
Incredible hiking and camping about a three hour drive from Los Angeles (worth spending 2-3 days here).
Paso Robles
Another road-trip worthy town at the base of the Salinas Valley in Central California (about 3.5 hours north of Los Angeles). Garrett lived here while teaching in King City, and we enjoyed the local food scene here - we especially recommend Rotta, Eberle, and Daou vineyards.
