[Despite Amanda’s best efforts to publish a 10,000-word thesis on this topic, Teddy convinced her to limit this to a brief highlight reel of important dates - you’re welcome.] While we grew up only a mere two hours apart in Maine, similarly frolicking around in the woods pretending to be book characters with our siblings & cousins, it wasn’t until Tufts that we finally crossed paths. Sometime circa-2016, a mutual friend introduced us in passing. As Amanda walked up to say hello to Teddy, she tripped and face-planted. It was love at first sight (but we forgot the crucial exchanging-phone-numbers part). A few months later, at a mutual friend’s party for Halloween, Amanda was dressed as a troll doll and caught Lumberjack Teddy's eye. We were both interested from afar, but neither of us made a move. Lucky for us, the same friend threw an April Fools Day shindig. This time around, Teddy caught Amanda's eye with his infamous face-melting dance moves, notably the worm. Teddy left the party before Amanda could say hi, so she chased him down outside and got his attention by smacking him with a long-range snowball. At long last, we planned our first date. The rest is an interesting, roller-coastering history filled with trips home to Maine, a love of food (especially lobstah), board games, hikes through New England & California, and lots & lots of laughs with our incredible friends and family. Then, FINALLY, on April 30, 2023, Teddy proposed to Amanda in a redwood grove in the Avenue of the Giants. It was spectacular. The sun beamed down through evergreen trees and a rainbow arched over us. Amanda cried her face off. We are so excited to make it official in August 2024. We feel so lucky to have had so many amazing friends & family on this journey with us. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
