The Beginning

Our Journey from 2007 - 2019

He was a (stoner) boy. She was a (hippie) girl. Can I make it any more obvious? The love story of Maggie & Danny began in their high school Spanish class circa 2007. Although they had some of the same friends, they never connected. Until 2017. It's a late Friday night at Roadhouse bar; there’s a country cover-band playing, and a hot single mom dancing to music she detests. Across the bar, there’s a wacky man celebrating gettin’ the heck out of Dodge, bound for new adventures in Colorado. They both walk out of the stuffy bar for a sip of fresh air, and after their first “Hola,” they were inseparable for the rest of the night. They danced, sang, and chatted with each other until it was finally time to say ""adios", wondering if those backwards glances would be the last they’d see of each other. Then, in June of 2019 at Summer Sounds, Maggie and her bestest and hottest friend in the whole world (can you tell this is being written by Maureen?) spotted Valoe from behind. They stalked him for a good 20 yards while Maggie recounted their history. Maureen then screamed “DANNY VALOE?” He turned– his cerulean eyes locking on Maggie's emerald gaze– and their love hasn’t stopped growing since.

The Proposal

11/27/2022

The weekend after Thanksgiving 2022, Danny took Maggie out into the woods with a big ol’ gun. (Scary, right? This isn’t a horror story though! Promise!). The only thing scary about this traditional hunting weekend was asking a pretty woman to promise the rest of her life with him! He tried to ask her once. He tried to ask her twice. But still, the nerves overcame the execution and they sat there in the snow, shivering to shake off the unspoken words between them. “Hey beeb” is what Danny said on their final morning there, whispering so the deer wouldn’t hear. “Will you marry me?” Miss Maggie, through a laugh/sob, excitedly said "Yes!". Finally, the couple meant to be, is to wed.
